As part of CHEP’s commitment to supporting communities in need and tackling the food waste challenge, a team of budding CHEP chefs, Andrew Francis, Javier Sanchez, Ani Enright, Graham Wrigglesworth, Louise Hendry, Kat Crofts and Alainna McGuire are participating in the annual OzHarvest CEO CookOffTM on 25 March 2019.
Every $1 donated allows OzHarvest to deliver two meals.
Good food should not go to waste while people are going hungry. OzHarvest rescues edible food from going to landfill and redistributes it to those in need. They also educate the next generation of Australians about food and sustainability, and help vulnerable young people find employment in the hospitality sector.
What is the OzHarvest CEO CookOffTM?
The OzHarvest CEO CookOffTM is a special evening in the lives of vulnerable men and women in Australia. The 2019 event will be held in Sydney on Monday, 25 March. The CEO CookOffTM feeds and entertains over 1,400 people in need, whilst providing an opportunity for Australia’s top bosses and their staff to lead by example in service to Australians who face food insecurity. In the lead up to the event, participants raise funds in support of OzHarvest, with the goal of raising $3 million, which will provide 6 million meals to people going without all around Australia. It’s a healthy competition among the business leaders and their staff with a great a cause, and lots of fun!
On the night, participants are grouped into teams and paired with celebrated chefs from Australia’s top kitchens. Each team prepares a meal under the guidance of their chef and serves up those beautiful meals to guests.
